How to Enable Crossplay in Diablo 4 Across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC
Feb-19-2024 PST
Diablo 4 offers the exciting opportunity to play with friends across different platforms. The game is available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and PC. However, before you can engage in crossplay and battle demons together, you'll need to navigate Blizzard's first-party distribution platform, BattleNet. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to easily enable crossplay with your friends in Diablo 4.
Unlocking Crossplay:
To access multiplayer features, it's important to note that you must first complete Diablo 4's prologue and reach the initial social stronghold of Kyovashad.
Inviting Someone to Your Party:
While playing as any character, open the menu and go to the Social tab. Here, you'll find a list of your online friends from BattleNet and the platform you're currently using. To add a friend from a different platform, click on the "Add a Friend" button located at the bottom right-hand corner of the Social Menu. A popup will display your BattleTag, which serves as your username on BattleNet. Share this BattleTag with your friends so they can connect with you. Alternatively, if you know the email associated with your BattleNet account, your friends can use that instead. Enter the BattleTag of the person you want to play with into the search bar and click "Send Request" to send them a friend request. Once they accept, their BattleTag will appear in your friends list on the social menu. To invite them to your game, select their profile from the menu and choose "Invite to Party" from the actions menu. They will receive a notification and can join your game.
Finding Your Party Members:
Now you can play alongside your friends! If you ever get separated during gameplay, you can easily teleport to any member of your party by pressing down on the d-pad on your controller. This will take you back to the region's hub city. From there, you can search for the player's portal in the town square to rejoin them. This will transport you directly to their exact location, regardless of where they are in the game world.
Progression in Party Play:
When playing with friends, all progress, including loot, quest progression, and XP, will be saved. If you have already completed story quests on your own character but join a player who is ahead or behind you, you can still complete those quests without affecting your own character's progress. If you wish to progress together on story quests, ensure that you are at the same quest step before joining up.
By following these steps, you can enjoy the cooperative experience of playing Diablo 4 with your friends across different platforms.
